ANGELA LIN, Office Manager

Angela has been with PVP since 1990, when she joined as Executive Assistant to the Chairman and helped establish PVP’s Taiwan operations. In 1997, she was promoted to Office Manager where she oversees office operations, administration, marketing and human resources.  From 2000 to 2002, she helped establish PVP’s satellite offices in Singapore, Shanghai and Suzhou. Angela holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Chung Yuan University.

BEN YANG, General Partner

Ben has over twenty-two years of experience in technology operations and private equity investments focusing on semicondutors and optoelectronics in Taiwan, Malaysia, China and the US. Ben is one of the integral members of PVP's management team and has been with the firm since 1995. His board involvement in public companies includes ALi, C-Com, Chein Kuo Construction, Creative Sensor, King Yuan Electronics and PixArt. Prior to joining PVP, Ben served as a Senior Assistant Vice President at China Semiconductor, where he worked on global sales and marketing activities and regional strategic expansion, including Malaysia and China. Prior to that, he served as a Test Engineer for Wiltron. Ben holds an MS degree in Scientific Instrumentation from UC Santa Barbara and a BS degree in Physics from Tunghai University.

CYNTHIA HSIUE, Principal

Cynthia has over fourteen years of experience in private placements, M&A and corporate finance. Cynthia’s board involvement includes AboCom Systems, ASEC International, C-Com, Chinese Gamer International, Simplo Technology and Soft-World International. Prior to joining PVP in 1998, Cynthia served as an Assistant Vice President for TNS Corporate Finance (member of Andersen Worldwide), an Investment Manager at Transpac Capital, a Manager at Goldman International, a Deputy Manger for First Taiwan Investment Banking Group, and an operational planning consultant for Grand Pacific Management International (subsidiary of the Koos Group). Cynthia holds MBA and Bachelor of International Trade degrees from Tamkang University.

JAMES WANG, Venture Partner

James has over thirteen years of experience in technology management, marketing, manufacturing and product development. James has extensive operational experience and also led many research and development projects at technology companies. James currently serves as President of SerComm, one of PVP’s publicly-traded portfolio companies in Taiwan. Prior to joining PVP, James served as a Managing Director of Emerson Electric, where he established and managed the Fortune 500 Company’s Suzhou, China operations. James holds an MBA degree from Harvard Business School, an ME degree in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University.

MICK CHANG, Principal

Mick has been working with and investing in communications and computing infrastructure companies for over eleven years. His board involvement includes Creative Sensor, Hi Sharp, Mustek, PixArt, TECO Electronic Devices, Teco Image Systems and Zowie. Prior to joining PVG in 1994, Mick served as a Managing Director for Gen Hong Foods Industrial. Mick holds an MBA degree from NYU Stern School of Business and a BS degree in Control Engineering from National Chiao Tung University.

PAUL WANG, Managing General Partner

With over thirty-six years of experience in the technology and venture capital industries, Paul has built an impressive investment record and demonstrated a broad and deep knowledge of high-technology investing since founding PVP in 1990. Paul serves as Chairman of Sercomm and is on the boards of several high-technology companies including C-Com Corp., CSMC, Mustek Systems Inc., Novatek Microelectronics Corp. and Properity Dielectrics Co., Ltd. Paul also served as Chairman of the Taiwan Venture Capital Association from 1997 to 2005. Prior to PVP, Paul served in a number of senior management positions during a twenty year career at IBM. Paul holds a PhD degree in Solid State Physics from Carnegie-Mellon University, an MS degree in Physics from Carnegie Institute of Technology and a BS degree in Physics from National Taiwan University.

RACHEL LIN, Funds Manager

Rachel has over ten years of experience in financial management. She is responsible for PVP's funds management, which includes investor relations, post-investment logistics and divestment execution. Prior to joining PVP, Rachel served as Product Manager for Core Pacific-Yamaichi in Hong Kong where she focused on asset management and was responsible for researching and promoting alternative investment products including asset-backed securities and hedge funds. She was also responsible for developing alliances with fund management companies, placement agents and institutional investors. Prior to that, she was the Finance Manager for Super Light Wave Corporation in Silicon Valley where she performed financial analyses for capital projects. Rachel holds an MBA degree from Boston University and a BA Degree from National Taiwan University.
